School Is Now in Session
I think my three-year old is in love with the girl we use as a babysitter. She's a great kid, and she's always ready to play a hundred games of Hungry, Hungry Hippo, or whatever he's in the mood for.
The most recent activity was playing School. At first the babysitter was the teacher, while my three youngest kids were the students. We have a wall I painted with a special paint that turns it into a chalkboard, which was at the head of the classroom. I saw evidence that they were working on letters and some addition. Pretty soon, however, it would appear that the three-year old usurped the role of teacher. When I heard about it, I almost busted out laughing.
Apparently duing "class," the babysitter's phone rang and she started to answer it. My darling little cherub adopted a stern expression, turned to the babysitter, and said,
No! No cell phones in school! And NO TEXTING!!!
Then he turned around and resumed his lesson. And the babysitter knew better than to break any school rules after that!

Oh, my gosh! I write about how to set cell phone and texting guidelines during team meetings in my books. It looks like his generation will make my kind of advice obsolete. Thank goodness I'll be long retired by the time he hits the business world.
